WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel recorded 115 digs as a team, ultimately prevailing in a back-and-forth fourth set to defeat Haverford 3-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Thursday.

Genna Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) led the defensive charge, establishing a career high with 33 digs for the Green Terror (16-5, 5-2 CC), who wrapped up the match with a 30-28 victory in the fourth set.

Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) added her second 20/20 performance in the last three matches with 20 kills and 26 digs while Colette Kellen (Derwood, Md./Covenant Life) recorded a season-best 20 digs to go with her 29 assists. The 115 digs as a team was the most posted by McDaniel since registering 157 in a five-setter against Lebanon Valley in 2002.

Keri Godbe led the Fords (15-7, 2-4 CC) with 20 kills and 16 digs while Madison Fuelling added a team-best 24 digs. Nina Mutty and Elana Garcia chipped in 12 kills apiece while Mutty had 19 digs and four aces.

Leading 2-1 in the match, a Madeline Rose (Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor High) kill gave the hosts a 17-13 lead in the fourth set, forcing a Haverford timeout.

An Abby Keller ace keyed a 5-0 burst out of the timeout to give the Fords an 18-17 edge.

In a set that featured 18 ties, nine came from that point on, including at 23-all, 24-all, 25-all, 26-all, 27-all and 28-all.

A Martin kill evened the match for the final time at 28 before Rose put down her 17th kill of the night to put the Green Terror on match point.

Weger recorded her lone ace of the night to lock up the victory.

In a 12-tie, six-lead change first set, Mutty put Haverford on top 23-21 with a kill before Martin responded out a timeout with one of her own and a ball handling error evened the set.

Back-to-back Martin knockdowns gave McDaniel a 25-23 win.

The Fords responded with seven straight points to turn a 9-5 deficit into a 12-9 lead in the second set.

A Rose kill drew the hosts within 18-16 but they could get no closer in the 25-20 Haverford win.

Three Ford errors early in the third set helped stake the Green Terror to a 5-1 lead.

The advantage swelled to as high as 21-13 on an Emme Petti (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) kill en route to a 25-19 victory.

Rose added five blocks to her 17 kills. Caroline Savin (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) chipped in nine kills and two blocks while Lexi Corral (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) had five kills and two blocks.

For McDaniel, it was the program's first win over Haverford since 1999, snapping a 14-match losing streak.

The Green Terror returns to action at Johns Hopkins on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
