WESTMINSTER, Md. – Franklin & Marshall took three close sets to defeat McDaniel 3-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Tuesday.

Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) led the Green Terror (12-5, 3-2 CC) on attack with 12 kills while Genna Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) steadied the defense with 13 digs.

Julie Harvey recorded 11 kills to pace the Diplomats (15-2, 5-0 CC), who remained as the only undefeated team in conference play halfway through the schedule.

In a first set that featured nine ties and five lead changes, neither team was able to open up a lead of more than three points until a Harvey kill capped a 5-1 burst that put Franklin & Marshall on top 19-15 to force a McDaniel timeout.

The Green Terror closed to within 22-20 before kills from Ellie Ezekiel and Katie Foreman surrounded an attack error to close out a 25-20 win.

The Diplomats opened up a 5-2 lead in the second set before back-to-back Emme Petti (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) kills knotted the score at 9-all.

Tied at 14-all, a service error gave the serve back to Franklin & Marshall, which reeled off four straight points to open up an 18-14 advantage en route to a 25-22 victory.

The Diplomats jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the final set and led by as many as eight on a ball handling error that made it 20-12.

A Madeline Rose (Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor High) kill closed the deficit to 23-20 but Franklin & Marshall tallied two of the final three points to take the match, 25-20.

Rose finished with eight kills while Caroline Savin (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) added six. Rose added five total blocks.

Colette Kellen (Derwood, Md./Covenant Life) added 19 assists, eight digs, three blocks and one ace. Maddie Moyer (Brookeville, Md./Sherwood) chipped in 10 assists, six digs and two aces.
