FREDERICK, Md. – McDaniel prevailed in a close first set and carried that momentum to a sweep of Hood in non-conference volleyball action on Friday.

Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) led the Green Terror (3-1) with a double-double, recording a match-high 14 kills to go with 11 digs.

Amy Hagerdon paced the Blazers (0-2) with seven kills and 12 digs.

Trailing 22-21 in the opening set, a bad set gave the serve to Colette Kellen (Derwood, Md./Covenant Life) with the score tied at 22-all.

A Lexi Corral (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) kill and back-to-back Martin knockdowns – all off Kellen sets – gave McDaniel a 25-22 win.

Trailing 6-4 in the second set, an attacking error and Caroline Savin (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) killed leveled the score.

Tied at 7-all, a Madeline Rose (Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor High) kill and Haley Duff (Montgomery Village, Md./Gaithersburg) ace keyed a 12-2 that sealed the set en route to a 25-12 win.

In the third and final set, the Green Terror broke open an 8-7 with 11 of the next 16 points en route to a 25-15 victory.
