WALTHAM, Mass. - McDaniel dropped a pair of five-set matches on the second day of the Brandeis Invitational in non-conference volleyball action on Saturday.
Colette Kellen (Derwood, Md./Covenant Life) led the Green Terror (3-5) with 57 assists over the 10 sets.
McDaniel took the first two sets from Rhode Island College 25-22 and 25-17, respectively before dropping the third set, 25-12.
The Anchormen forced a deciding set with a close 26-24 win in the forth set before prevailing, 15-7.
Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) finished the match with her fourth double-double of the season, notching 11 kills to go with 20 digs. Kellen added 26 assists.
Annie McShea (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) chipped in two aces while Hannah Krobock (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) added three total blocks.
Against the host Judges, McDaniel once again took the opening set, 25-23. Brandeis responded with a 25-20 second-set win before the Green Terror took a 25-18 decision in the third set.
The Judges forced the deciding set 25-21 before prevailing, 15-9.
McShea led the attack with 17 kills and three aces while Kellen chipped in with 31 assists.
Martin and Olivia Kunc (Chesterbrook, Pa./Conestoga) steadied the defense with 16 digs each. McShea chipped in two blocks.
The Green Terror returns to action at Catholic on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
