WALTHAM, Mass. – McDaniel dropped a pair of three-set matches on the first day of the Brandeis Invitational in non-conference volleyball action on Friday.
Annie McShea (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) led the attack for the Green Terror (3-3) with 18 kills over the two matches.
In the team's tournament opener, Emmanuel (2-4) took the opening set 25-21 before completing the sweep with wins of 25-17 and 25-19, respectively.
McShea finished the match with eight kills. Colette Kellen (Derwood, Md./Covenant Life) added 24 assists to the offense.
Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) steadied the defense with 10 digs.
McDaniel closed the first day of action against Babson (3-1), who took a close first set 215-21 before going on to the 3-0 victory with wins of 25-13 and 25-9, respectively.
McShea added 10 more kills in the match to go with seven digs and three total blocks.
Kellen chipped in 17 assists, two aces and six digs.
Bryanna Smith (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) added three block assists.
The Green Terror concludes play at the Brandeis Invitational on Saturday. McDaniel takes on Rhode Island College at 12 p.m. followed by the host Judges at 2 p.m.
