Volleyball to host “Blue Out”
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Once again this season, McDaniel will be joining the 10 other Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball teams and help raise cancer awareness during the month of October.
For the last five seasons, the conference teams have participated in Digging For a Cure for breast cancer research. This season, though, the attention turns to pediatric cancer with the proceeds going to Tanner's Touch, a non-profit organization based in Carroll County.
During October, the 11 teams will campaign to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research and local families affected by the disease. All monies raised will go directly to Tanner's Touch and Johns Hopkins Pediatric Cancer Research.
The Green Terror has designated its Saturday, Oct. 22 match against Haverford as a "Blue Out".
All fans attending are encouraged to wear blue in support of research for pediatric cancer. The team is selling t-shirts for the event that can purchased that day for $10 but are also available in advance for $7.
Tanner and his family will be attending the match and assisting with the coin toss. The family and organization will also be introduced to the crowd.
A box will be at the door to the Gill Center to donate new toys for Tanner's Touch.
Match time on Oct. 22 is 1 p.m.
