McDaniel drops pair in trimatch at Hood

FREDERICK, Md. – Jaina Maultsby (Baltimore, Md./Western) recorded 11 kills to lead McDaniel in an pair of losses at a trimatch hosted by Hood in non-conference volleyball action on Saturday.

The Green Terror (0-6) dropped a 3-0 decision to the host Blazers, falling 25-8, 25-18, 25-15, before Chatham recorded a 25-22, 25-22, 25-14 sweep.

Against Hood, Maultsby and Melissa Weldon (Broomall, Pa./Country Day School of the Sacred Heart) each recorded four kills to lead the attack.

Annie McShea (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) added seven assists and seven digs to go with one of the team's three aces.

Against the Cougars, Maultsby and McShea led the attack with seven and six kills, respectively.

McShea also added nine assists, three aces and 11 digs. Weldon steadied the defense with 14 digs.

Hannah Krobock (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) added 12 digs and three total blocks.

McDaniel returns to action in the home opener against Catholic on Tuesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
