Bullets eliminate McDanel with 3-0 win

GETTYSBURG, Md. – Kate Yoder recorded eight kills to lead Gettysburg to a 3-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Wednesday.

The Bullets (14-12, 5-2 CC) took the first set 25-15 and stretched the match lead to 2-0 with a 25-23 victory in set No. 2 and finishing off the sweep with a 25-13 victory to remain in playoff position with three matches to play and eliminate the Green Terror (2-18, 1-6 CC) from playoff contention.

Jackie Hawkins (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) led the McDaniel attack with 10 kills. Katie Ferguson (Dover, Pa./Northern York) added eight kills and a match-high 11 digs.

Kristen Nuckles (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) added 18 assists, two total blocks and one of four Green Terror aces.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Washington (Md.) on Saturday. Match time is 1 p.m.
