McDaniel splits on opening day at York Quad
YORK, Pa. – Taylor Herrgott (Derwood, Md./Magruder) recorded 25 kills in two matches to lead McDaniel to a 1-1 day at the York (Pa.) Quad in season-opening volleyball action on Saturday.
After dropping a 3-2 (18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 16-25, 15-10) decision
to the host Spartans (2-0), the Green Terror (1-1) defeated
Swarthmore (0-2) in four sets, 25-17, 25-21, 12-25, 25-23.
Against York, Lanni Reisinger (Lemoyne, Pa./Cedar
Cliff) recorded a team-high 11 kills. Herrgott notched 10
kills while Kristen Nuckles (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk
Academy) added 25 assists and 14 digs.
Kristie Fourcade (Ijamsville, Md./St. Johns at Prospect
Hall) keyed the defense with 20 digs while Jenna
Filipone (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) added 11 digs.
Against the Garnet, Herrgott led the way with 15 kills while
Nuckles posted 17 assists.
Brooke Cramblitt (West Jordan, Utah/Juan Diego
Catholic) led three players reached double-figure digs
with 12. Reisinger added 11 while Fourcade had 10.
McDaniel returns to action at Messiah on Wednesday. Match time is 7
p.m.
