Relays set new marks
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Chloe Allen-Gorman (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) was part of a pair of program relay records, leading McDaniel at its own home twilight invitational in women's outdoor track and field action on Wednesday.
Allen-Gorman anchored the sprint medley relay with Jasmine McCormick (Antioch, Calif./Holy Name), Katie Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) and Taylor Stillings (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) to run a time of 4:25.59 and finish second in the event.
Later in the meet, Allen-Gorman led off the 4x1600-meter relay, joining Emily Gross (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion), Becky Kaler (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) and Laura Shinn (Weehawken, N.J./Pennington Prep) for a time of 23:34.29 to win the event for the Green Terror at the non-scoring meet.
Shinn added a 25-second personal best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing fifth with a time of 12:42.75.
Gross added a victory in the 1,500 with a time of 5:27.42 while Kaler won the 3,000 with a time of 10:54.16 to move into sixth place on the program's all-time list.
McCormick won the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.59 seconds while finishing third in the high (1.51 meters) and long (4.78) jumps. She was also seventh in the javelin (26.84). All hit the necessary Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying standard. Her high jump ranks fifth all-time.
McCormick rounded out her day, joining Alva Ecker (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg), Stillings and Corson to finish second in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 52.84 seconds.
Corson was also second in the 200 with a time of 27.49 seconds. She was also third in the 400 (1:01.72) and fifth in the long jump (4.37 meters).
Ecker finished fourth in both the long (4.43) and high (1.41) jumps while Claire Lawson (McMinnville, Ore./McMinnville) finished third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.31 seconds.
Kelsey Dickman (Abington, Md./Bel Air) led the way in the throws, finishing fifth in the javelin (26.98 meters) and sixth in the shot put (10.86).
The Green Terror returns to action at the Mason-Dixon Invitational hosted by Gettysburg on Saturday.
