Kaler wins 3K
BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Becky Kaler (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) won the 3,000 meters and finished third in the 1,500 to lead McDaniel at the Jopson Invitational hosted by Bridgewater in women's outdoor track and field action on Saturday.
Kaler just missed the Centennial Conference (CC) qualifier in the 1,500 with a time of 5:15.08 after winning the 3K in a time of 11:33.45.
Laura Shinn (Weehawken, N.J./Pennington Prep) added a second-place finish for the Green Terror at the non-scoring meet, completing the 5,000 meters in a time of 22:24.88.
Annie Krueger (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) finished third in the high jump, clearing the CC standard with a jump of 1.42 meters.
Katie Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) added two qualifiers in her four events on the day. She was seventh in both the 800 (2:33.58) and long jump (4.40 meters), hitting the standard in both events. She was fourth in the high jump (1.32) and fifth in the 100 hurdles (19.89 seconds).
Sarah Holbrook (Winchester, Va./John Handley) rounded out McDaniel competitors, finishing 19th in the 800 with a time of 2:55.98.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Towson Invitational on Saturday.
