McDaniel runs at Jopson Invitational

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Rob Kelvey (Westminster, Md./Westminster) won the 3,000 meters to lead McDaniel at the Jopson Invitational hosted by Bridgewater in men’s and women’s outdoor track and field action on Saturday.

            Kelvey took first in the 3,000 with a time of 9:19.18 in addition to a third-place showing in the 1,500 with a time of 4:13.46.
            C.J. Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) finished second in the 1,500 with a time of 4:10.42 while Cody Crutchley (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) was fourth with a time of 4;14.78.
            Naper added a sixth-place finish in the 800 (2:01.25) while Crutchley was eighth (2:02.65).
            Alex Reiser (Washington, D.C./McLean School of Maryland) finished eighth in the both the 100 (12.36) and 400 (56.37) while Juris Eyler (Middletown, Md./Middletown) placed fifth in the 400 with a time of 53.51.
            Rick Gonzalez (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills) was third in the 400 hurdles (1:00.47) while Jake Nichols (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) and Ken Polk placed fifth and sixth in the 100 hurdles (21.15) and triple jump (11.60), respectively.
            On the women’s side, Lindsay Wilson (Catonsville, Md./Seton Keough) led the way with a second-place showing in the 1,500 with a time of 5:00.11, finishing as the top collegiate runner.
            Emily Hajjar (Frederick, Md./Urbana) was third in the 5,000 with a time of 22:51.48.
            Jennifer Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead) and Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished fifth (5:13.19) and sixth (5:14.51), respectively in the 1,500. Fleischer added a third-place finish in the 3,000 with a time of 11:31.32.
            Heidi Davidhizar finished fifth in the 100 hurdles (17.09) and javelin (26.61) and seventh in the high jump (4-2).
            Emma Nichols (Myersville, Md./Middletown) was seventh in the 800 with a time of 2:29.01.
            The Green Terror returns to action at the Goucher Invitational on Saturday.
