BOSTON, Mass. – Jasmine McCormick (Antioch, Calif./Holy Name) finished eighth in the pentathlon with 2,946 points to lead McDaniel at the 2014 ECAC Division III women's indoor track and field championship at the Reggie Lewis Track on Friday and Saturday.
With McCormick's eighth-place finish, she earned the Green Terror one team point at the championship meet.
Chloe Allen-Gorman (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) joined McCormick at the championship. Allen-Gorman finished 31st in the 800 on Saturday with a time of 2:25.17, which is a top-five all-time indoor performance.
On Friday, McCormick opened with a 10th-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.98 seconds. It was her highest point total of the five events with 716 points.
In the second event, McCormick set a new program record in the high jump, clearing 1.54 meters. The jump of 5-foot, ½-inch betters the previous record by one-quarter inch. She tied for fifh in the event.
McCormick had her highest finish in the shot put with a toss of 10.23 meters to finish second.
She was 11th in the long jump with a leap of 4.48 meters.
She finished fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:38.04 but was originally disqualified for a lane violation. After appeal, it was determined that she should be reinstated and her time count to give her the eighth-place overall finish.
McDaniel opens the outdoor season at the Battleground Relays hosted by Mary Washington on Mar. 21-22.
