Dickman breaks record in shot

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Kelsey Dickman (Abington, Md./Bel Air) broke her own program record in the shot put by nearly a half-foot to lead McDaniel at the Hagerstown Invitational in women's indoor track and field action on Saturday.

Dickman threw a distance of 11.75 meters to hit the ECAC-qualifying standard in the event and lead a group of 13 athletes to earn Centennial Conference (CC) qualifiers at the non-scoring meet.

Jasmine McCormick (Antioch, Calif./Holy Name) recorded two of the Green Terror's five second-place finishes on the day. She was second in the 55 hurdles with a time of 9.46 seconds, which ranks ninth all-time, and second in the high jump with a height of 1.49 meters, which ranks fifth. She was also fifth in the shot put (9.86 meters) to round out her trio of CC-qualifying marks. She was also sixth in the 200 with a time of 29.02 seconds, missing the mark by 0.02 seconds.

Chloe Allen-Gorman (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) was second in the mile to McDaniel alumnae Lindsay Wilson. Allen-Gorman finished with a CC-qualifying time of 5:28.07, which ranks fifth on the program's all-time list. Wilson crossed in a time of 5:24.83.

Becky Kaler (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) finished second in the 3,000 with a CC-qualifying time of 11:11.95 while Taylor Stillings (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) was second in the 200 with a CC-qualifying time of 27.92.

Tineria Thomas (Baltimore, Md./Western) added a pair of qualifying marks, finishing fifth in the 200 (28.77) and 10th in the 55 (8.07).

Claire Lawson (McMinnville, Ore./McMinnville) finished third in the 55 hurdles with a time of 9.67 to hit the CC standard. She also hit the conference standard in the pole vault, finishing fourth with her height of 2.45 meters. She was also eighth in the high jump (1.24) and 12th in the 200 (29.50 seconds).

Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) was tied for fourth in the high jump, clearing a CC-qualifying height of 1.39 meters.

Alva Ecker rounded out conference qualifiers, finishing fifth in the pole vault (2.30). She was also seventh in the high jump (1.29).

The Green Terror returns to action at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna on Friday, Jan. 18.
