Scott nabs 300 record
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Jasmine Scott (Derwood, Md./Bullis) finished second in the 300 with a program-record time of 43.15 seconds to lead a small contingent of McDaniel athletes at the 2012 Bucknell Mini Meet in women's indoor track and field action on Saturday.
Scott also finished third in the 60-meter dash with a Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying time of 8.16 seconds at the non-scoring meet.
Jasmine McCormick (Antioch, Calif./Holy Name) also qualified for the conference meet in the 60 and 200. She crossed fourth in the 200 with a time of 28.57 and completed the 60 in a time of 8.70 to finish seventh – a time which placers her seventh on the Green Terror's all-time performer list.
On the field side, McCormick also qualified in the long jump with a leap of 4.60 meters, finishing eighth and placing sixth on the all-time list. McCormick was also third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 12.02 seconds.
Becky Kaler (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) rounded out conference qualifiers with a fourth-place finish in the 3,000. Her time of 11:08.73 is also eighth all-time.
Catherine Frondorf (Arlington, Va./H.B. Woodlawn) added a pair of 11th-place showings in the sprints, finishing the 60 in a time of 9.55 and the 200 in a time of 33.65.
Laura Shinn (Weehawken, N.J./Pennington Prep), Avalon McOmber (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) and Joy Chand (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) rounded out the McDaniel competitors, finishing 10th (12:35.58), 11th (12:35.60) and 13th (13:47.98) in the 3,000, respectively.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna on Sunday, Jan. 22. Action begins at 10 a.m.
