CARLISLE, Pa. – Jasmine Scott (Derwood, Md./Magruder) won the 200-meter dash to lead McDaniel to an eighth-place finish at the 2011 Dickinson Holiday Meet in women's indoor track and field action on Saturday.

The Green Terror collected 34 points at the 11-team invitational, which was won by the host Red Devils with 170 points.

Scott sprinted to a time of 27.15 seconds to win her first race of the season. She was also fifth in the 55 with a time of 7.56 seconds. The two times were among six marks that earned Centennial Conference (CC) qualfiers.

Katie Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) finished second in the 600 with a program-record time of 1:46.44. She was also sixth in the long jump with a CC-qualfying leap of 4.59 meters. Her long jump mark ranks sixth on the program's all-time performer list.

She also hit the qualifying time in the 55 hurdles, finishing 10th in a time of 9.84 seconds. Corson rounded out her day with a 12th-place finish in the high jump (1.29 meters) and 22nd-place showing in the shot put (5.97).

Becky Kaler (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) turned in a pair of conference-qualifying times and cracked into the all-time top 10 in ninth place in both the mile and 3,000. She finished fourth in the 3,000 with a time of 11:11.81 and crossed sixth in the mile with a time of 5:38.68.

Laura Shinn (Weehawken, N.J./Pennington Prep) competed in the same two events, crossing 11th in the 3,000 (12:26.34) and 15th in the mile (6:11.70).

Joy Chand (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson), Avalon McOmber (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) and Sarah Holbrook (Winchester, Va./John Handley) finished 16th (6:14.67), 17th (6:18.32) and 18th (6:34.21), respectively, in the mile.

Catherine Frondorf (Arlington, Va./H.B. Woodlawn) was 29th in the 55 (8.73) and 32nd in the 200 (33.28).

Ashley Meister (Vienna, Va./James Madison) and Annie Krueger (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) rounded out McDaniel competitors. Meister was 19th in the shot put with a toss of 7.27 meters while Krueger was 12th in the high jump, clearing 1.29 meters.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Bucknell Mini-meet on Jan. 7.
