McDaniel notches three wins, seven top-three finishes in final trip to Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Jasmine Scott (Derwood, Md./Bullis) notched a pair of victories to lead McDaniel at the Susquehanna Invitational in women's indoor track and field action on Sunday.

The freshman notched her second multiple-win showing at Susquehanna. She won her preliminary heat of the 55 by 0.31 seconds, registering a 26-member field-best time of 7.57 seconds. In the finals, Scott edged Stevenson's Julie Egonu by one one-hundredths of a second, crossing in a personal-best time of 7.49 – the fifth-best time on the all-time performer list.

Scott added a second victory in the 200, crossing in a time of 27.25 – nearly a quarter-second faster than the second-place finisher, Stacey Perrins of Misericordia.

Kelsey Dickman (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) rounded out the winners for the Green Terror at the non-scoring meet, tossing a distance of 11.24 meters in the shot put.

Individually, Lindsay Wilson (Catonsville, Md./Seton Keough) added a third-place finish and McDaniel took second in a pair of relays and third in the other to round out a total of seven top-three finishes.

Three days after bettering her own program record in the mile, Wilson turned in a time of 5:16.72 in the same event to finish third. Wilson also led off the 4x800-meter relay, which finished second to notch the seventh-best time in program history.

Wilson joined Jennifer Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead), Missy Black (West Grove, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) and Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) to finish in a time of 10:22.64.

Scott, Wilson and Garnett teamed with Katie Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) to turn in the fourth-best time in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing second in a time of 4:17.03.

Scott, Corson, Garnett and Sarah Byron (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) combined to finish third in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:51.18 – the sixth-best time in program history.

Byron added a 17th-place, Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying time of 11.11 seconds in the 55 hurdles, competing in the event for the first time. Byron was also 12th overall in the 55 (8.02).

Peoples finished sixth in the 5,000 with a CC-qualifying time of 19:30.11 while Black was seventh in the mile, hitting the CC mark with a time of 5:37.89.

The Green Terror returns to action at the DuCharme Invitational hosted by Dickinson on Saturday.
