McDaniel has sweet performance at Navy
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Lindsay Wilson (Catsonville, Md./Seton Keough) bettered her week-old program record in the mile by nearly three seconds to lead McDaniel at the Sweetheart Multi-Mix Meet hosted by the United States Naval Academy in women’s indoor track and field action on Thursday.
Wilson finished second in the event with a time of 5:15.95 behind
only Green Terror alumnae Kelly Gruber, who ran a
personal-best time of 5:14.12.
Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) and
Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill)
also competed in the mile, finishing ninth (5:45.85) and
10th (5:50.55), respectively.
Emma Nichols (Myersville, Md./Middletown) and
Jennifer Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead)
finished eighth (2:30.90) and ninth (2:31.43) in the 800 –
both were season-best times.
Heidi Davidhizar and Erin Balsamo
(Baltimore, Md./Western Tech) competed in the pentathlon.
Davidhizar was seventh with 1763 points while Balsamo was eighth
with 1536.
McDaniel returns to action at the Susquehanna Open on Feb.
