Arnold wins twice

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Washington (Md.) won the two contested doubles matches before splitting singles with McDaniel for a 5-4 Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis victory on Wednesday.

Nicole Arnold (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) led the Green Terror (2-15, 0-9 CC) with a pair of victories. She and Angela Johnson (Lansdowne, Md.) to win by default at third doubles before taking a 6-0, 6-2 victory at fifth singles.

April Weaver and Marielle McIntyre led the Shorewomen (4-12, 1-9 CC) with two wins. Both went 2-0 without dropping a game, partnering for an 8-0 win at first doubles before winning at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, 6-0, 6-0.

Danielle Cloney (Severna Park, Md.) added a 6-2, 6-1 victory for McDaniel at fourth singles while Nina Breece (Petaluma, Calif./Petaluma) won by default at sixth singles.

The Green Terror concludes the season at home against Ursinus on Saturday. Match time is 1 p.m.
