Pollard wins two games

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Haverford won the five contested singles matches to defeat McDaniel 5-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Saturday.

Laura Pollard (Federalsburg, Md./Colonel Richardson) won two games for the Green Terror (1-7, 0-2 CC) at No. 1 singles.

Robyn Himelstein (No. 3), Kate Donches (No. 4) and Abby Payson (No. 5) all won 6-0, 6-0 for the Fords (6-2, 2-1 CC) in a match that played indoors due to the weather and thus was only played until it was clinched.

Pollard won two games in the first set before failing to Caitlin Gallagher 6-2, 6-0 at first singles.

At second singles, Elise O'Meara (Bowie, Md./Elizabeth Seton) took one game before falling to Alex Ferrara 6-1, 6-0.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Shenandoah on Monday. Match time is 4 p.m.
