WESTMINSTER, Md. – Angela Johnson (Lansdowne, Md.) and Nicole Arnold (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) paired to win two doubles matches at the McDaniel Invitational in women's tennis action on Saturday and Sunday.
In the flighted competition with St. Mary's (Md.) and Hood, the Green Terror finished with the best record in the C-flight behind the two wins from Johnson and Arnold at No. 3 doubles. Arnold and Johnson defeated Kayla Baier and Allison Griffin in the Saturday's match with St. Mary's, 8-5. In Sunday's match with Hood, Arnold and Johnson topped Meghan Donahue and Mabie Tun, 8-6.
Johnson and Arnold also each added a win in singles play against St. Mary's. Johnson won the 5-6 crossover match with Griffin 8-2 while Arnold downed Griffin 8-2 in the No. 6 flighted match.
Leesa Malczewski (Denton, Md./Chesapeake) and Jana Ferraro rounded out C-flight victories for McDaniel, taking both of the 5-6 crossover matches with Hood. Malzcewski defeated Donahue 6-4 while Ferraro topped Aubrey Fetters, 7-6.
Winsome Schauer (Hartford, Conn./Watkinson School) added a victory in the A-flight against Hood on Sunday, topping Sandra Dziadas 6-3 in the crossover match.
The Green Terror concludes the fall season with a dual match at Goucher on Friday, Oct. 4. Match time is 3 p.m.
