Lewis wins set

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Washington (Md.) swept doubles en route to a 9-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Thursday.

Lauren Lewis (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) led the Green Terror (3-14, 1-8 CC), taking the second set 6-4 at sixth singles to force a third set super-tiebreaker. Amy Stevens, who won the first 6-0, took the flight with a 10-7 win in the final set.

April Weaver paced the Shorewomen (7-10, 5-5 CC), winning twice without dropping a game. She teamed with Gveveon Kang to win second doubles 8-0 before taking No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Marielle McIntyre also won 6-0, 6-0, taking the fifth flight of singles without dropping a game.

McDaniel returns to action at Ursinus on Saturday. Match time is 1 p.m.
