HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford swept doubles play en route to an 8-1 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Saturday.
Laura Pollard (Federalsburg, Md./Colonel Richardson) took the lone point for the Green Terror (1-7, 0-2 CC), taking a three-set win at No. 5 singles.
Alex Ferrara led the Fords (6-2, 2-0 CC), going 2-0 without dropping a game.
Jordana Bloom took the first set at fifth singles 6-4 before Pollard forced a super-tiebreak third set with a 6-2 win in the second set. Pollard prevailed in the deciding set, 10-5.
Ferrara teamed with Caitlin Gallagher for an 8-0 win at first doubles before taking No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Gallagher capped a two-win day with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Dickinson on Wednesday. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
