Barnett wins six games

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Swarthmore dropped just four games in singles play to complete a 9-0 win over McDaniel in the Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis opener for both teams on Saturday.

Chelsea Barnett (Hanover, Pa./South Western) led the Green Terror (1-6, 0-1 CC), winning six total games. She and Kiersten Patron (Timonium, Md./Dulaney) played the closest of the three doubles matches, falling 8-4 to Brooke Wilkins and Katie Samuelson.

Stephanie Chia led the Garnet (3-1, 1-0 CC), going 2-0 without dropping a game. She partnered with Epiphany English to win 8-0 at second doubles before tallying a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.

Emily Rosenblum and Gavatri Ivengar also won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Gettysburg on Wednesday. Match time is 3 p.m.
