Grove wins eight games

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Franklin & Marshall won all six singles matches in straight sets to capture a 9-0 Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis victory over McDaniel on Wednesday.

Carissa Grove (Boonsboro, Md./St. Maria Goretti) led the Green Terror (4-9, 0-7 CC) with eight total games won. Grove teamed with Brittany Starlings (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) to drop an 8-2 decision to Danielle Weiner and Anya Sahaydachny at first doubles.

Weiner then defeated Grove 6-3, 6-3 at first singles. Sahaydachny topped Starlings 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 singles.

Julia Fiala paced the Diplomats (4-7, 1-4 CC) with a 2-0 day, not dropping a game. She teamed with Nina Simic for an 8-0 win at third doubles before taking fourth singles, 6-0, 6-0.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Penn State-Harrisburg on Thursday. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
