WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel won the first nine events to defeat Washington (Md.) 57-37 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action on Saturday.
Emma Duesterhaus (Spartanburg, S.C./Spartanburg Day) won three times in her final collegiate dual meet to pace the Green Terror (7-5, 4-3 CC), who finished the dual-meet season with a winning record for the first time since going 7-4 in 2002-03. It marked the first time that the squad finished with a winning record in CC dual-meet competition.
Ellie Miskiel recorded a win for the Shorewomen (5-6, 1-6 CC) in the 100 breaststroke, recording a time of 1:09.70.
Duesterhaus anchored the 200 medley relay to the eighth-ranked time in program history, joining Kerrie Vanscoy (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora), Kelly Lewis (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mills) and Brittney Lenz (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) to post a time of 1:54.35.
Individually, Duesterhaus touched first in the 50 free (25.26 seconds) and 100 backstroke (1:02.17).
Vascoy added a victory in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.36 and finished second by less than a second to her teammate in the backstroke with a time of 1:03.16.
Sydney Knadler (Crowley Lake, Calif./Mammoth) moved into the program's top 10 with a 0.13-second victory in the 400 IM, touching in a time of 4:59.24. She also won the 100 freestyle in a time of 55.78 seconds.
Shannon McClellan (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro) won both distance races, taking the 1000 free in a time of 11:05.54 and the 500 free in a time of 5:29.25.
Kerrin Holmes (Avondale, Pa./Avon Grove) rounded out the individual winners for the Green Terror with a time of 2:07.10 in the 200 freestyle.
Swimming as exhibition, the 200 free relay of Knadler, Mariel Ramey (Framingham, Mass./Keystone National), Emily Gross (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) and Holmes touched first with a time of 1:43.40, which ranks ninth all-time.
Lexie Jacobs (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) finished third in the 1000 freestyle, moving into the all-time top 10 with a time of 11:36.76.
Abbie Schickler (Montgomery Village, Md./Covenant Life) finished second in the 200 free with a time of 2:09.38 while Lewis was second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:11.72.
McDaniel concludes the season at the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Friday, Feb. 21 through Sunday, Feb. 23. Action begins at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
