WESTMINSTER, Md. – Swarthmore won eight events to key a 58-37 victory over McDaniel in the Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming opener for both teams on Saturday.

Emma Duesterhaus (Spartanburg, S.C./Spartanburg Day) and Rachel Walega (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) each won twice to lead the Green Terror (1-2, 0-1 CC), who combined with the Garnet (2-0, 1-0 CC) to take down four Harlow Pool records in the team's home opener.

Supriya Davis, Erin Lowe and Kate Wiseman each recorded three-win afternoons for Swarthmore.

Duesterhaus and Walega teamed with Kerrie Vanscoy (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and Brittney Lenz (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) to open the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay, combining for a pool-record time of 1:53.03 to take down the previous mark by nearly a full second.

Later in the meet, Duesterhaus just missed making it five new pool records in one day with a victory in the 100 backstroke, touching in a time of 1:00.80 – a half-second shy of the 2006 mark.

Walega capped her two-win day with a victory in the 100 breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:10.66.

Wiseman reset other two records with her individual wins in the 50 (24.56) and 100 (54.11) freestyles.

Davis also added individual wins in the 500 (5:18.55) and 1000 (10:59.58) freestyles.
