McDaniel, Walega recognized for academics

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America recently released its Team Scholar All-American list for the Spring 2011 semester and McDaniel was among the Division III teams recognized.

The Green Terror was once again highly successful in the classroom, posting a collective team grade-point average of 3.48.

McDaniel was one of 93 programs in the country recognized for having a team GPA of 3.0 or better, ranking tied for 15th on the list that included three Centennial Conference teams. The Green Terror was the highest ranking team among those from the conference on the list.

Individually, Rachel Walega (Ambler, Pa./Wisahickon) was recognized individually as a Scholar All-American honorable mention. Walega hit the B-Cut in the 100 breaststroke while achieving a grade-point average of at least 3.5 in the spring.
