Wroblewski makes lone goal stand for victory

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – McDaniel scored in the 40th minute and the defense posted its fourth straight shutout to defeat Muhlenberg 1-0 in the Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer opener for both teams on Saturday.

Christina Wroblewski (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) led the Green Terror (5-0, 1-0 CC) with the game's lone goal.

Marissa D'Alessandro led the Mules (2-3, 0-1 CC) with four saves in goal.

With just 5:06 remaining in the first half, Wroblewski headed a ball past the keeper off an Annie Marshall (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) assist.

Sarah McDonald (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) needed to make two saves for the shutout.

McDaniel finished the game with a 14-8 edge in shots and 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Green Terror returns to action at Frostburg on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
