Hill, Jacobs sweep weekly honors
LANCASTER, Pa. – Nicole Hill (Bowie, Md./Bowie), a freshman on the McDaniel women's soccer team, and Haley Jacobs (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford), a freshman, have been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Players of the Week for the week of Oct. 7-13.
For Hill, the Offensive Player of the Week, it marks the third straight week she has earned the honor. For Jacobs, the Defensive Player of the Week, it is the second time this season she has received the accolade.
Hill led the Green Terror (10-2, 4-1 CC) to a 2-0 week in the conference with a pair of 2-1 victories. In addition to recording an assist against both Franklin & Marshall and Swarthmore, she also tallied the game-winning goal with 2:41 remaining in the first overtime to defeat the Garnet.
For the season, Hill leads the team with nine goals and 23 points. Both totals also rank second in the CC.
Jacobs made 15 saves in the pair of victories between the pipes. She made six saves in the win over the Diplomats before making nine stops in the victory over the Garnet. She allowed two goals, finishing the week with an .882 save percentage and 0.96 goals-against average.
For the season, Jacobs has an .831 save percentage and 0.97 goals-against average.
The Green Terror returns to action at Gettysburg on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
