WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel netted an early goal and then scored again in the 98th minute to defeat Swarthmore 2-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Saturday.
Nicole Hill (Bowie, Md./Bowie), the two-time reigning CC Player of the Week, scored for the Green Terror (10-2, 4-1 CC) to run the team's current winning streak to seven games.
Emma Sindelar netted an unassisted goal for the Garnet (5-4-2, 1-3-2 CC), scoring to knot the game with 4:53 to play in regulation.
Just 3:19 into the game, Hill found Christina Wroblewski (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) directly off a throw-in to stake the hosts to an early 1-0 lead.
The game stayed that way until Sindelar found the upper-left corner of the net.
With 2:41 to play in the first overtime, Wroblewski returned the favor. She found Hill, who drew the keeper out and fired on an open net for the game-winner.
Swarthmore finished with a 23-9 advantage in shots.
Haley Jacobs (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) made nine saves in net for McDaniel.
The Green Terror returns to action at Gettysburg on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
