Hanus tallies first of year

HAVERFORD, Pa. – After McDaniel took an early, Haverford tallied five straight en route to a 5-2 Centennial Conference (CC) victory on Saturday.

Hilary Hanus (Hockessin, Del./Cab Calloway School of the Arts) staked the Green Terror (6-9-1, 1-6-1 CC) to a lead just 6:28 into the game with her first tally of the season.

Meg Boyer led the Fords (11-3-1, 5-2-1 CC) with a pair of goals.

Larisa Antonisse headed in a Sarah Hoffman pass to knot the game at the 39:06 mark.

Boyer ripped a shot from 25 yards out 50 seconds later to give the hosts a 2-1 lead at the break.

Allie Chen stretched the lead to 3-1 just 3:02 into the second half.

Boyer made it a 4-1 game in the 53rd minute before Hannah Davis rebounded a Boyer miss off the post 1:30 later.

Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) set the final margin in the 87th minute.

Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) finished with 11 saves in goal for McDaniel.

The Fords finished with a 25-7 advantage in shots and 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

The Green Terror returns to action at No. 22 Johns Hopkins on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
