WESTMINSTER, Md. – Stevenson scored within three minutes twice to key a 4-0 victory over McDaniel in non-conference women's soccer action on Thursday.
Jamie Matlock and Samantha Novy each had a goal and an assist for the Mustangs (6-3-2), who finished the game with a 22-5 advantage in shots and 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.
In the 21st minute, a McDaniel defender knocked a ball that was spinning down the goal line into the back of the net to give Stevenson a 1-0 lead.
Just 2:33 later, Matlock ripped a ball into the upper half of the net from the right side.
In the second half, Matlock drew the keeper out before passing to Samantha Novy, who headed the ball home for a 3-0 lead in the 68th minute.
Novy floated a ball into the box in the 71st minute that Meghan Williams headed off the crossbar and across the line to set the final margin.
