WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel tripled its season's offensive total in the first 4:09 of a 5-1 victory over Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Saturday.
Kelly Crawford (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) scored two goals to lead the Green Terror (1-4, 1-2 CC) to its first victory of the season. Hilary Hanus (Hockessin, Del./Cab Calloway School of the Arts) added three assists.
Lizzie Robinson broke up the shutout for the Owls (5-1-1, 0-1-1 CC), scoring unassisted with three seconds to play.
Erica Diffendal (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) found Crawford just 3:49 into the game to snap a two-game scoreless drought for McDaniel.
Hanus then found Becky Newman (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) just 20 seconds later to double the advantage and eclipse the team's season goal total through the first four games.
Hanus and Crawford connected to make it a 3-0 game in the 20th minute.
In the 58th minute, it was Hanus finding Diffendal for the freshman's first collegiate marker.
Teresa Paz (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown) converted a penalty kick with 14:10 to play for a 5-0 lead and the most goals scored by the Green Terror in a CC game in exactly six years.
