Franklin & Marshall downs McDaniel

Diplomats tally 2-0 home victory

LANCASTER, Md. – Jen Korngut netted the first goal of the game to propel Franklin & Marshall to a 2-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Saturday.

The Diplomats (7-3, 3-2 CC) finished with a 20-4 advantage in shots and 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) made eight saves for the Green Terror (2-5-3, 1-3 CC), who is winless in its last four outings.

After Korngut put home a Carley Nicholson rebound in the 19th minute, Holly Lagasse added an insurance goal at the 51:09 mark for the only scoring of the day.

Liz Beall (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded three of McDaniel's four shots.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Dickinson on Thursday. Game time is 4 p.m.
