Muhlenberg posts shutout in conference opener

Mules score three second-half goals to down McDaniel, 3-0

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Nicolette Miller scored two goals to lead Muhlenberg to a 3-0 victory over McDaniel in the Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer opener for both teams on Saturday.

The Mules (1-3-2, 1-0 CC) and Green Terror (1-2-1, 0-1 CC) played through a scoreless first 52:44 before CJ Graetzer dented the scoreboard off a Stephanie Tramutola assist.

Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) made 11 saves for McDaniel, which was outshot 26-9, including 20-5 in the decisive second half.

Just over 15 minutes after Graetzer tallied, Miller converted a pair of feeds from Natalie Wizel just 3:52 apart for the final score.

Michele Toher made six saves for Muhlenberg.

McDaniel returns to action at Shenandoah on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
