Stevenson blanks McDaniel

Mustangs tally three goals in first 20 minutes en route to 4-0 win

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Allison Humphries scored two goals to lead Stevenson to a 4-0 win over McDaniel in non-conference women's soccer action on Thursday.

The Mustangs (2-2) scored three times in the game's first 19:21 to build an early lead en route to the shutout victory.

Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) made nine saves in net for the Green Terror (0-1-1), who was outshot 21-3 in the contest.

Catherine Madden wasted no time getting Stevenson on the board, finding the back of the net with the Mustangs' first shot at the 2:04 mark. Julie Dempsey crossed a ball from the right wing and Madden fired from point blank range for the early tally.

Humphries netted an unassisted marker at the 13:17 mark before Dempsey notched her second helper of the day, finding Stephanie Eyler off a corner kick in the 20th minute.

Humphries made it 4-0 with 19:49 to play finishing a Rhea Sarioglou assist off a corner kick.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Hood on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
