Dickinson notches two early for win

Red Devils outshoot McDaniel 36-1 in 2-0 victory

CARLISLE, Pa. - Ashley Kunkle scored in the game's 14th minute, helping Dickinson to a 2-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Wednesday.

Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made 22 saves for the Green Terror (3-9-1, 2-3 CC), finishing one shy of her career best accomplished twice before.

The Red Devils (10-2, 3-2 CC), who held a 36-1 advantage in shots, also got a goal from Hannah Richardson.

Kunkle finished a Courtney Anderson feed at the 13:03 mark before Sara White found Richardson 3:30 later to double the advantage.

Hollinger, the reigning CC Defensive Player of the Week, went to work after that, making 18 of her season-best 22 saves in the game's final 73 minutes.

Dickinson, ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the latest NSCAA/adidas rankings, added a 12-1 advantage in corner kicks.

McDaniel returns to action at Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
