Bobcats tally 46 seconds into game, record 3-0 win at McDaniel
WESTMINSTER, Md. - Lauren Russell tallied a goal and an assist to lead Frostburg in a 3-0 victory over McDaniel in non-conference women's soccer action on Thursday.
Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made 11 saves for the Green Terror (1-6), who was shut out for the sixth time this season.
Kierstin Stevenson staked the Bobcats (6-2) to an early 1-0 lead, scoring from the backside post off a Russell centering pass 46 seconds into the contest.
McDaniel held Frostburg off the board for the next 29:33 before Russell ripped a shot from just inside the box off the crossbar and in to double the advantage.
In the 34th minute, Lauren Lentine sent a long pass through the defense from the midfield that Amanda Wharton finished for the final margin.
The Bobcats finished with a 21-3 advantage in shots.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Game time is 2 p.m.
