Yox wins at 149

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – No. 22 Centenary (N.J.) recorded two pins and a technical fall to key a 34-6 victory over McDaniel in non-conference wrestling action on Sunday.

Logan Yox (Westminster, Md./Liberty) paced the Green Terror (3-9) with an 8-2 victory at 149.

Chris Parker recorded a first-period fall for the Cyclones (3-1), who won eight of the 10 bouts.

Parker opened the day with a 2-minute, 30-second pin at 125 before Adam Swift stretched the lead to 10-0 with a 10-1 major decision win at 133.

Craig Montgomery edged out a 5-4 win at 141 before Yox's six-point win at 149 drew the visitors within 13-3.

A Chris Burdge 14-1 win at 157 and Nick Bach fall in 5:15 at 165 extended the lead to 23-3.

One bout later, Khalid Shakir sealed a Centenary victory with a 4-1 victory at 174.

Scott Forrester (Manchester, N.J./Manchester Twp.) broke up the run of three straight wins with a 4-3 victory for McDaniel at 184.

Tim Lutke (197) added a technical fall at 197 and J.D. Zitone rounded out the day with a  6-2 win at heavyweight.

The Green Terror returns to action in a Centennial Conference quad at Washington and Lee on Saturday, competing against Muhlenberg, NYU and Ursinus. Action begins at 11 a.m.
