Meekins keeps it to two
WESTMINSTER, Md. – No. 23 Delaware Valley won all 10 matches to defeat McDaniel 51-0 in non-conference wrestling action on Thursday.
Mike Meekins (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) was the only wrestler to drop his bout by decision for the Green Terror (3-8), who competed with most of its backups against the top-25 team a day after the starters competed in a conference match. Chris James (197) won the bout with Meekins, 5-3.
Charlie Frankel opened the match for the Aggies (8-8) with the first of three pins, winning in 1:18 at 125.
James DeLillo (141) added a 1-minute, 10-second fall and Kyle Tufts (184) won by pin in 2:01.
Eric McCann (133), Emmanuel Ajagbe (157) and Donald Smith (165) all won by major decision while Zak Andrews (149), Connor Gabriel (174) and Mike Boardman (HWT) won by forfeit.
The Green Terror returns to action at Centenary (N.J.) on Sunday. Match time is 1 p.m.
