Green Terror notches 1-2 day in home conference quad
The Green Terror (4-8, 2-3 CC) opened the day falling to 14th-ranked Merchant Marine Academy 35-12 and Stevens 37-9 before taking down Washington and Lee, 39-9.
In the opening match against the Mariners (8-2, 2-0 CC), Merchant Marine won six straight bouts to turn a 6-3 deficit into a 32-6 advantage.
After Jordan Alfaro recorded a 2-0 victory at 125, Goretsas earned his first of two forfeits to give the Green Terror a short-lived 6-3 advantage.
James Beshada used an 8-3 win to knot the match and Martin Bell recorded a 45-second fall at 149 for a 12-6 match lead.
Dan Twito added a major decision 10-1 before Vincent Renaut and Erik Schott bookended a Justin Diesel second-period pin with technical falls.
