Glotfelty seeded sixth for nationals

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The NCAA released its brackets for the 2009 NCAA Division III championships and McDaniel’s Brock Glotfelty (Grantsville, Md./Northern Garrett) earned the sixth seed at heavyweight.

Competition will begin at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Friday at 11 a.m. CST and continue through Saturday.
Glotfelty enters the championship at 35-1 overall and has won his last 12 bouts since his season-opening 23-match winning streak was snapped by top-seeded Kyle Bilquist of Delaware Valley.
Glotfelty won the Centennial Conference championship at heavyweight on Feb. 21 with a 3-0 day that included his conference-leading 20th and 21st pins of the season.
Glotfelty is the Green Terror’s 37th wrestler to qualify for the NCAA championship and attempts to be the eighth to become an All-American.
If Glotfelty advances to Saturday’s competition, he would be guaranteed a finish of no worse than eighth place and would garner All-America honors.
