McDaniel downs Johns Hopkins, 28-10

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Brock Glotfelty (Grantsville, Md./Northern Garrett) recorded a first-period pin to improve to 24-1 at heavyweight, leading McDaniel to a 28-10 Centennial Conference (CC) wrestling victory over Johns Hopkins on Tuesday.

            The Green Terror (7-9, 2-0 CC) won seven of the 10 matches to win for the squad’s fifth win in its last seven matches.
            Michael Testa led the Blue Jays (2-4, 0-1 CC) with a 12-4 major decision at 133.
            William Yeo (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills) opened the match with an 11-0 win at 197 before Glotfelty extended the lead to 10-0 with a pin two minutes into his bout.
            A Zach Morris (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) 10-7 win at 125 extended the advantage to 13-0 before Testa won JohnsHopkins’ first bout of the night.
            Rocky Barilla (141) won 5-0 to close the defiict to 13-7 before Brent Lowe’s (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) first-period technical fall started a stretch of four straight wins for McDaniel, securing the victory.
            The Green Terror returns to action at a CC quad meet hosted by Stevens on Saturday. Action begins at 11 a.m.
