WESTMINSTER, Md. – Due to the forecast for continued rain and possible severe weather this afternoon and evening, the Centennial Conference (CC) has announced that the women's lacrosse first-round game has been postponed.
Following in the wake other regional conferences making similar moves, the fourth-seeded Green Terror (9-7, 5-4 CC) will now host the fifth-seeded Mules (10-6, 4-5 CC) on Thursday. Game time will be 7 p.m.
The winner advances to Saturday's semifinals at Gettysburg.
Gettysburg (14-2, 8-1 CC), ranked No. 6 in the latest IWLCA Division III coaches poll, will host Wednesday's winner in the day's first semifinal to begin at 1 p.m. Franklin & Marshall (14-4, 8-1 CC), ranked seventh in the same poll, will face Washington (11-4, 7-2 CC) in the day's other semifinal not before 3:30 p.m. or 45 minutes following the conclusion of the day's first semifinal.
The semifinal winners will advance to Sunday's championship game, which will begin at 1 p.m.
The tournament's champion will earn the CC's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division III tournament, slated to begin on May 8. The NCAA field will be announced on Sunday at 9:30 p.m.
The Green Terror is seeking its first conference title. It is the second straight tournament appearance for McDaniel.
