LANCASTER, Pa. – Three members of the McDaniel women's lacrosse team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, released on Monday.
Paige Messersmith (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) was named to the first team while Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) was tabbed to the second team. Kate Keim (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) earned honorable mention accolades.
Messersmith, a senior midfielder, earned her fourth consecutive all-conference and second straight first-team nod after being tabbed honorable mention as a freshman and to the second team as a sophomore. Starting all 17 games, Messersmith leads the team with 88 draw controls on the season to give her 294 for her career – the most in program and conference history. She also has team highs in ground balls (49) and caused turnovers (25). Messersmith currently ranks second on the squad with 38 goals, 13 assists and 51 points.
Entrot, a sophomore attacker, earned her first All-CC honor after leading the team with 56 goals, 16 assists and 72 points. Her goal total currently ranks fourth in the conference while her point total is fifth. With her 56 markers, she has eclipsed the 100-goal mark in just her second season and has already moved into the program's top 10 with 107 career tallies. Starting all 17 games, she ranks second on the team with 47 draw controls and has also recorded 14 grounds balls and seven caused turnovers.
Keim, a junior defender, makes her first all-conference appearance after leading the defense. Starting all 17 games, she is second on the team with 27 ground balls and has caused six turnovers.
The Green Terror (9-8, 5-4 CC) will await the announcement of the ECAC tournament field later on Monday to see if its season continues.
