WESTMINSTER, Md. – Haverford scored four straight first-half goals to turn a 3-1 deficit into a 5-3 lead en route to an 11-7 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Saturday.
Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) tallied three times to lead the Green Terror (5-4, 1-1 CC) while adding one assist.
Diana Perry led the Fords (7-2, 1-1 CC) with four goals.
After goals from Entrot and Paige Messersmith (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) just 48 seconds apart staked McDaniel to a 2-0 lead after just 4 minutes, 46 seconds, Perrin Downing and Entrot traded tallies to keep it a two-goal game eight minutes later.
Unassisted tallies from Elyse Adler and Perry knotted the game at 3-all with 14:42 to play in the opening half before Adler hit Megan Gallagher with 9:09 showing for a 4-3 advantage.
Perry stretched the lead to two 2:40 later before Samantha Barbeito (Myersville, Md./Middletown) conntected with Entrot to draw the hosts within one with 2:06 remaining in the period.
Dowling pushed the lead back to two at the break before Perry gave Haverford its largest lead to that point at 7-4 just 3:57 into the second half.
A pair of Grace Stockbower tallies around a Barbeito solo run made it a 9-5 game with 13:07 to play.
Julia Jacobs (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) found the back of the net but goals by Perry and Stockbower made it an 11-6 game with 3:47 to play.
Jacobs set the final margin, finishing a solo run with 1:21 on the clock.
Messersmith finished with six draw controls as part of an 11-9 advantage at the center circle.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Swarthmore on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
