Entrot nets seven and one

WINCHESTER, Va. – McDaniel outscored Shenandoah 10-4 after halftime to capture a 19-9 victory in non-conference women's lacrosse action on Wednesday.

Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) led the Green Terror (5-3) with seven goals and an assist while Julia Jacobs (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) added four tallies.

Liz Bereit paced the Hornets (6-2) with four goals and an assist.

After Entrot and Bereit traded goals in the first three minutes, Jacobs put McDaniel on top for good converting an unassisted marker with 22:52 to play in the opening half.

Entrot added a free-position tally 2:42 later for a 3-1 lead before Samantha Sisson responded with a free-position goal of her own with 18:42 to play.

Goals from Entrot and Paige Messersmith (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) stretched the advantage to 5-2 with 16:14 to play before Samantha Donaghy converted from Sisson to make it 5-3 with 14:41 showing.

Free-position goals from Anna Molhenrich (Towson, Md./Mercy) and Katie Timmons (Bishopville, Md./Stephen Decatur) pushed the lead to four two minutes later.

Jacobs sandwiched a goal between Amy Rollins' two goals in the game for an 8-5 game with 6;36 to play in the second half.

Goals from four different Green Terror players over the final 36 seconds of the first half and first 5:19 of the second half pushed the lead to 12-5.

Back-to-back Bereit free-position tallies closed the deficit to 12-7 with 20:06 to play but Jacobs started another three-goal flurry to push the lead to eight with 9:36 remaining en route to the 10-goal win.

McDaniel finished with a 29-19 advantage in shots.

Messersmith won 10 draw controls while Entrot controlled another seven as part of a 19-11 advantage for the Green Terror.

Lauren McCadden (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) led the defense with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Haverford on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
