COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus scored three goals in a 4-minute, 9-second span to break a 12-all deadlock and defeat McDaniel 15-13 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Saturday.

Paige Messersmith (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) led the Green Terror (6-8, 3-5 CC) with four goals and an assist while also corralling 10 draw controls for the second straight game.

Alyssa Thren paced the Bears (8-6, 4-3 CC) with five goals of her own.

Knotted at 12-all after Danielle Entrot's (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) second goal of the game with 7:32 to play in regulation, Thren needed just 11 seconds to put Ursinus back in front.

Lauren Garganio stretched the lead to 14-12 with 4:01 to play before Thren netted her 43rd goal of the season with 3:14 to play to give the Bears a three-goal cushion.

Messersmith converted a free-position shot with three seconds on the clock to set the final margin.

Goals from Thren and Kitty Dawson staked Ursinus to a 2-0 lead in the game's first 6:51 before Monica Parcell (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) cut the deficit int half just 18 seconds later.

Garganio found Amber Moyer 50 seconds after Parcell's marker to put the hosts back on top by two but Anna Beaudry (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional) once again made it a one-goal game a minute later.

Clinging to a 5-4 lead after an exchange of goals, Thren converted a free-position shot with 11:52 to play and Kim Peifer connected off a feed from Emily Diehl to make it a 7-4 game with 10:29 to play.

Back-to-back scores from Mary Tokolish (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) closed the deficit to a single goal once again with 6:55 to play.

Goals from Nicole Kovacs and Garganio pushed the advantage to 9-6 at the intermission.

A pair of Messersmith markers once again trimmed the deficit to one with 24:09 remaining.

After Kovacs and Entrot traded goals, Taylor Egolf scored with 16:43 to play to give Ursinus an 11-9 lead.

A Chelsea Watkins (Columbia, Md./Hammond)-to-Messersmith goal 37 seconds later and a Parcell free-position goal knotted the game at 11-all with 14:15 showing.

Diehl and Entrot traded goals 2:20 apart.

McDaniel finished with a 32-25 advantage in shots.
