On Nov. 5, 2011, the McDaniel women's lacrosse team hosted its third Terror Trot, a charity 5K run/ 1.5-mile walk.
This year, all proceeds went to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in honor of Deborah Brown, who is fighting her battle with pancreatic cancer.
The day was filled with tears, laughter, pride, and fulfillment with more than 200 participants and volunteers filling the Klitzberg Pavilion on the campus of McDaniel College to raise funds and awareness for the illness.
Participants and volunteers included members of the community and campus, including the women's lacrosse, men's lacrosse, women's soccer, men's and women's cross country and field hockey teams.
There were also members of sororities and fraternities present. The event included the race, a raffle and breakfast. Community members and businesses, including Frisco Family Pub, Maggie's Restaurant, J Café, Road ID, and The Tea Room, donated many of the items for the raffle.
The day, in total, raised more than $6,000 for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to fund research and initiatives to combat the illness and support families who are battling the disease.
